Given the drawback of running into an object, a smart Hillbilly will quickly strike with the instant kill attack to kill a Survivor. Given the abilities' instant kill property, a smart Hillbilly player will use the Chainsaw charge as a quick burst to take out a Survivor, rather than using its full charge. So utilizing the Chainsaw charge as less of a pure offensive tool and more of a method to efficiently travel a map is the sign of a smart Hillbilly player. Making it quite easy to find and take out Survivors in the blink of an eye. Plus the fact that the charge has no in-game stopping point other than running into a hazard allows for Hillbilly player to almost endlessly run around a given map. Given how incredibly fast the ability is it allows for Hillbilly players to make rounds of a given area extremely efficiently. But to truly get mileage out of his seemingly bare-bones arsenal will take some practice, but can lead to some incredibly quick and brutal rounds of Dead by Daylight.Ī major tactic implemented to almost all Hillbilly player's arsenal is using his Chainsaw charge as a recon ability.
But the character makes up for his lacking personality by having some of the most powerful tools in the game. Making Use of the Hillbilly's Abilities in Dead by DaylightĪs mentioned earlier in the guide, Hillbilly is a very basic killer in a game filled with personality and in-depth mechanics. Mastering this ability is what separates a solid Hillbilly from a novice one. Hillbilly's primary gimmick is this powerful charge, and it makes the rather "vanilla" character one of the strongest in the cast. A smart Hillbilly player will learn the intricacies of the charge and learn to navigate the rapid Killer with clinical precision. So the move does grant the Killer an incredible boost of speed, it is not as brainless of an attack as it sounds. The primary downside to this ability is that, if the Hillbilly runs into an environmental hazard, then the character will be left in a stunned state for a few seconds. However, landing this one hit kill attack is not guaranteed, the strike is rather finicky and can whiff if thrown with reckless abandoned. Essentially morphing the Hillbilly into a hyper-mobile killing machine. What makes this Chainsaw charge so devastating, is that it grants the Hillbilly an instant kill attack out of the sprint. This move allows the Hillbilly to cover immense ground during this charge and provides the Killer unprecedented speed.
Hillbilly will begin to rev up his chainsaw for a few seconds and then initiate a rapid charge sprinting through the given arena. The primary tool in Hillbilly's arsenal is his notorious chainsaw attack.
